Today's Flowers

I think most people wouldn't think to wear these colors
together—but when Mother Nature came up with the purple
coneflower she went all out!  This also explains why my niece,
who has bright copper-colored hair, looks stunning in hot pink.

Today's prompt (thanks to Bella's daughter) is chocolate!
These were for sale at Dean and Deluca, NYC food
emporium extraordinaire (and expensive).  I'm no mathematician 
(understatement!), but I have to wonder why you'd buy a 
6-inch cake for $50 when you can get two 3-inch cakes for $30.

This was shot at the end of a fabulous once-
(well, actually, twice-) in-a-lifetime 3-star meal I got 
to enjoy at the Grand Véfour, in Paris—where we were 
seated at what had been Napoleon and Josephine's "usual table"!

I've shown the 40,000+ bulbs that bloom each
year in the Brooklyn Botanic's Bluebell Wood—
but I spotted these closer to home, tucked up against 
the stone foundation of my apartment building.
