This early-17th-century nautilus cup is just one of too-many-to-count things gifted to the Metropolitan Museum of Art by J. Pierpont Morgan. The silver gilt mounts depict Neptune riding a whale, with Jonah emerging unscathed from its mouth. (Even the shell alone would be beautiful enough, I think.)
