Mirrored in this Nolita storefront window is Old St. Patrick's Cathedral (completed in 1815) . It was the original seat of the NYC Catholic archdiocese before they built St. Patricks's on Fifth Avenue; now it's a parish that reflects the ethnic makeup of the neighborhood— Sunday masses are in English, Spanish, and Chinese. ReplyDeleteI can see more of the Cathedral in your reflection than when I visited. It was covered in scaffolding then.
