Weekend Reflections

This sculpture, at the U.N., was a gift from Italy.
It's one of several versions of "Sphere Within Sphere,"
by Arnaldo Pomodoro.  Don't know what the sculptor meant,
but if you see it as a broken globe then it seems fitting that
we should see ourselves reflected in it—after all, we
really haven't taken very good care of our planet up to now.

  3. Alexa, I agree with you. This is a warning. We should realize it before too late.

  5. Love this reflection and spheres with a reflective surface always make for interesting ones... even when we have broken it

  8. An interesting interpretation. Not only the meaning of the sculpture, but of the meme. Thanks for the thought provoking photo!
