The prompt for Week 49: "pastel colors"

At the Ladurée shop in Manhattan:
picking out an assortment of
yummy macarons in pretty pastel colors.  
The flavor of the pink ones is rose—
delicious, but I only ever choose my fave, 
caramel au fleur de sel.

The prompt for Week 49: An old film photo

A lot of old family photos were destroyed when my
mom's house was flooded during Hurricane Sandy.
Fortunately I had already scanned some of
my favorites, including this one of my mom and me.
She was 29—and was flirting shamelessly with
the photographer (my dad).  My mother recently
celebrated her 94th birthday—and she's still cute, btw.

The prompt for Week 49: layers

I was thinking about this "assignment" while I was
cooking dinner—mainly about the layers of my own
history represented by the books in every room
and the clothes in several different sizes in my closets.
Then I looked at an onion and decided to take it literally.
