The prompt this week: vintage, faded, peeling, rusted. I imagine the boat got painted and put in the water (this is Burano, near Venice, where fishing is very important). But I'd be happy to return and find that this wonderful wabi-sabi wall has been left alone. [To see others' take on this week's project, go here.] |

Weekend Reflections
Just back from Italy. Found this reflection off the island of Burano, near Venice. [You can find more weekend reflections here, at James' meme.] |

My True Colours
Here's my offering for bright lapis blue:
A brightly colored house on Burano,
a blue glass sculpture on Murano,
a fairy bluebird in NYC's Central Park Zoo,
and cafe tables in the East Village.

True Colours Thursday — Pink
Wanted to keep this to four photos,
and had a hard time choosing just
four. But here they are: a pink house
(with matching laundry) on the island
of Burano, near Venice; cherry blossoms
in full bloom at the Brooklyn Botanic
Garden; my mom's amazing 56-year-old
azalea bushes; and my darling little friend
Mary enjoying her 1st birthday cake.
