52 Photos Project

The prompt for Week 38:
Each moment is a place you've never been.

This photo represents a place I'd never
been on more than one level.  I was on a pristine,
mostly-undisturbed-by-humans beach in the
Galapagos.  And this hawk and I shared a
special (for me anyway) "moment"—when he
landed in a mangrove tree and allowed me to get close
enough (no zoom needed, only nerve) to capture this shot.

  1. Wow! That's special to get that close in the wild. Very nice.

  2. Wow, this is amazing- and so special

  3. Ooooh, how wonderful! I remember a baby owl capture that made me feel something like that. This is a beautiful bird. He almost seems to be saying, "I know I don't have a bad side, get your picture!" =)

  4. What a great capture! Birds are so fascinating, especially large ones in the wild!

  5. What a blessing you were offered to capture this rare and beautiful moment.

  6. How gorgeous! I feel so connected to owls. Love this shot!
