The prompt for Week 41: Do you have a secret wish? Don't know how big a secret this is, but . . . This is moi—in Paris, obviously (and this photo was taken by my ex, with whom I still travel). I lived here many years ago and have promised myself that I will live here again. Of course, if property prices keep going up as they have been, this quai may be exactly where I am living when I finally get here. [To see more of the 52 Photos Project, visit Bella's meme.] |

52 Photos Project
The prompt for Week 40: black and white Curious that this should come up now, because just last week I set my camera on black and white and walked around my apartment to see what I could come up with. This closeup of my favorite funky lamp is the picture I liked best. [To see more of the 52 Photos project, visit Bella's meme.] |

Kate X 32 (more or less)
This was taken by my daughter Lila of her sister, Katie, at the modern-art museum in Buenos Aires (the warm-weather, all-the-meat-you-can-eat, tango-'til-you-drop stop on their way to and from Antarctica). [To see more Weekend Reflections, visit James's meme.] |

The prompt for Week 39: Wide Open Spaces The best antidote for claustrophobia? Head for the famously wide open spaces of the great American West! [To see more of the 52 Photos Project, visit Bella's meme.] |

52 Photos Project
The prompt for Week 38: Each moment is a place you've never been. This photo represents a place I'd never been on more than one level. I was on a pristine, mostly-undisturbed-by-humans beach in the Galapagos. And this hawk and I shared a special (for me anyway) "moment"—when he landed in a mangrove tree and allowed me to get close enough (no zoom needed, only nerve) to capture this shot. Weekend Reflections
Just visited friends who recently renovated an old farmhouse—part of a property that has a name rather than a street number. It's not a fancy house, but everywhere you look there's something beautiful to see. [To see more Weekend Reflections, visit James's meme.] |

The prompt for Week 37: Softly Fade Away I like the idea of one year fading softly into the next, and I knew the garden would be the place to find just the right image to convey that feeling. I hope that 2013 blooms well for you! [To see more of the 52 Photos Project, visit Bella's meme.] |
