52 Photos Project

Week 29—Holding: Go out and hold something
—long enough to appreciate that special moment
{Thanks, and great choice, Deb.}

My mom's house was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy
and my family is focused on holding onto our
memories of the home we grew up in.
This past weekend we began trying to salvage
what we can.   One of the things I'm hoping to
save is this 92-year-old baby dress that I
found with some others at the bottom of a trunk.
Managed to get it dry before mold took over and will
find a pro to clean it.  Then I'll frame it and
hang it in whatever Mom's new home turns out to be.

  1. Sorry to hear about the impact the storm had on your family. Sending love and light. ps. that dress is just lovely.

  2. Oh sorry to hear! Thinking of you and everyone impacted by this devastation! That dress is priceless!

  3. So sorry to hear of the impact of the storm on you and your family. Blessings on each of you as you begin recovery...

  4. So many families, so many memories, hit by this storm. I really hope you can save that dress. It's a treasure. I hope you'll post a photo of it, framed.

  5. Alexa! I'm sorry to hear this!! I know what it's like to lose your treasured things to disaster... it's truly heart breaking. My thoughts are with you and your family as you try to recover from this hit. The level of destruction Sandy brought is so sad.
    I love your photo this week.
