I imagine that everyone who goes
to Florence hikes up to Piazzale
Michelangelo and takes this exact
picture of the Ponte Vecchio, with
the Santa Trinita, alla Carraia, and
Amerigo Vespucci bridges beyond.
But, of course—who could possibly
resist such a view? (This is probably
#1 in a series—I have many, many
pics of this beautiful bridge!)

Oh my, I wish I'd had time to wander out of the train station when I was there about 30 years ago.
ReplyDeleteAlexa, You're quit right. Have hiked up this hill many times for this view. The church above the Piazzale--San Miniato--is very old and offers Vespers sung in Latin most evenings. Quite magical. Thanks for the post.
ReplyDeleteODP -- Magical is the right word—San Miniato is my absolute favorite Florence church. And have you checked out the cemetery? So photogenic!
