photo Friday challenge — "autumn 2009"

One of the few trees in my neighborhood
whose leaves aren't still green!

True Colours Thursday — Green

My green things: grasses at the Greenmarket,
my brother Chris on drums, some NYC cops
on duty, and lotus flowers and pods at the
Brooklyn Botanic Gardens' water lily pond.

Photo Friday — " . . . is in the details"

I always heard that "God is in the details,"
and I'm sure the masons and sculptors
and artisans who created the Sainte
Chapelle believed it as they covered
every square centimeter with beauty.

True Colours Thursday — Pink

Wanted to keep this to four photos,
and had a hard time choosing just
four. But here they are: a pink house
(with matching laundry) on the island
of Burano, near Venice; cherry blossoms
in full bloom at the Brooklyn Botanic
Garden; my mom's amazing 56-year-old
azalea bushes; and my darling little friend
Mary enjoying her 1st birthday cake.

Here's what the dawning of one new day
looked like at 30,000 feet.

True Colours Thursday — Silver

Here are my offerings for today's color —
My favorite "silver" edifice in NYC, the
Chrysler Building, beautiful shiny fish
at the market in Venice, a favorite
Christmas ornament (unfortunately not
mine), and, finally, something that actually
IS silver.

True Colours Thursday — Red

Just (literally) discovered this fun photo meme.
I actually have lots of photos of bright red
berries, but just to be a bit different, how
about these barn shutters?
