Weekend Reflections

I spent the afternoon at the Met yesterday,
where I saw lots of beautiful things—
among them this 17th-century Dutch goblet.
Etched on the glass is a copy of a 1555 map that shows
the course of the Rhine River from Mainz to Utrecht.

  1. Stunning. It's amazing how something so fragile can last so many years.
