52 Photos Project

The prompt for Week 46—"gold"

All that glitters . . . may be the chandeliers
and the gilded ceiling of the Metropolitan Opera,
at Lincoln Center in New York.

The prompt for Week 45:  "one woman I love"

There are lots of wonderful women in my life,
but if I could only feature one of them
the "winner" would have to be my mother—
and . . . today is her 95th birthday!

The prompt for Week 44: "across the street"

In this case, I was standing on the south side
of Houston Street and looking across
the lanes of traffic at Lady Aiko's mural on the
Bowery and Houston Street Art Wall.
Other murals have been here since and the wall was
taken down altogether in July because a
building is going up—but supposedly it will be back
when the building is completed.  Hope so.
Artists (including Keith Haring) have been livening
up this corner of Manhattan for 30 years.

The prompt for Week 43—'black & white"

As you can see, my fellow Brooklynites know
the importance of traction when you're
trying to get around in snow and ice.

The prompt for Week 42—"orange"

Here's something I'm really looking forward to,
especially considering the frigid, frigid
temps (and snow) we've been dealing with here lately.
(I've also been having fun playing along with
Xanthe and Andrea @colorcolourlovers, so this shot
will definitely show up on Instagram too.)

The prompt for Week 41: "This smells heavenly"

And did it ever!  I smelled this lavender (for
sale at my local greenmarket) long before I actually
saw it—and just followed my nose right
to it.  In addition to these fragrant sachets, there
was also fresh lavender, in pots and bouquets.

The prompt for Week 40—"before and after"

I guess this is actually before, during,
and after—but this tree peony was
just so gorgeous in full fabulous bloom!
