52 Photos Project

The prompt for Week 6: busy street

This should be easy for me—I live in NYC.
And—not for nuthin' (as we say here)—I took
this
shot of traffic zipping up 8th Avenue at around 2 AM!

The prompt for Week 6—uncommon shapes

I struggled with this one, tried various things
and wasn't satisfied with any of them—then finally
posted this picture, the one that came to mind immediately

for the prompt.  But I have to give the credit to my
daughter Katie, who shot it in Antarctica this year.

Prompt for Week 6: light in the dark

My ancestors were already here a couple of centuries
before this lady graced the New York harbor,
but my kids' paternal ancestors were greeted by her
when they arrived from Sicily in the early 20th century.
I decided on this shot (taken from a dinner cruise
around the harbor) because it seems to fit this
week's brief both literally and figuratively.
