Weekend Reflections

Shortly after this flight took off from
LaGuardia, those of us who planned
ahead and were seated on this side of the
plane [ :~} ] were treated to a great view
of the rising sun reflected off  the
Hudson and East Rivers, New York
harbor, and the Atlantic Ocean
as far as the eye could see.

52 Photos Project

Prompt for Week 6: light in the dark

My ancestors were already here a couple of centuries
before this lady graced the New York harbor,
but my kids' paternal ancestors were greeted by her
when they arrived from Sicily in the early 20th century.
I decided on this shot (taken from a dinner cruise
around the harbor) because it seems to fit this
week's brief both literally and figuratively.

52 Photos Project

Prompt for Week 2:
Capture the sun shining in your life

Maybe this is more like the sun shining on my life.
I saw this heavenly light beaming down on the
Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and New York harbor as
I was crossing in a ferry from Governor's Island
to lower Manhattan one late afternoon.
